From a young Afghan girl with dreams, to studying abroad, and giving back to her communities. Morsal’s story is one of inspiration, dedication, and passion.

Morsal is a passionate advocate for education, gender equality, women empowerment, and cross-cultural understanding, believing that education is a fundamental right for all.
Morsal joined Camp Afghanistan as a mentor in the 2018, 2019, and online 2020 camps. She brought a wealth of knowledge and international education experience from her journey of receiving a competitive scholarship to study Bachelor of Arts in History, Economics, and Politics from Bangalore, India.

As an advocate of quality education, diversity, and inclusion, Morsal served as an executive member of the Federation of International Students Association in Bangalore, India. She also earned a diploma in International Affairs and Diplomacy from Delhi, India, and acquired teaching experience in international schools. Feeling privileged to have the opportunity of an international education, Morsal came back determined to help others in her community.
In addition to serving as a mentor with Camp Afghanistan, Morsal pursued her passion for community engagement and educational opportunities by becoming an English language teacher at the Lincoln Learning Center (funded by the U.S. Government) in Ghazni, Afghanistan. She facilitated educational journeys to India for Afghan girls as a teacher assistant with the Leadership Advancement Program (LEAP) in India funded by the American Councils.

However, with the Taliban takeover in 2021, she relocated to the United States, transitioning into a role as a Case Manager, providing language and essential support to refugees in Minnesota. Subsequently, she earned a diploma from the Institute for Advanced Learning and Research in Danville, Virginia. Currently, Morsal works as the Office Manager at dRC (disAbility Resource Center) in Virginia, advocating for the diverse abilities of individuals.
She emphasizes the significance of empowerment and mentorship, finding fulfillment in bridging cultures and generations and contributing to educational and academic communities in both Afghanistan and the United States.
Outside of work, Morsal enjoys riding bicycles, reading books, and exploring new places in her home – the U.S.
